Software Meta Rolls Out Paid Verification for Facebook & Tech Services ,Instagram in US
CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on his Instagram broadcast channel on Friday that Meta Verified is now available in the United States. Those who sign up get a verified badge, identity theft protection and direct access to customer service, he said.
Meta Verified is available for $15 per month for iOS or Android subscriptions and $12 per month for web subscriptions. The service launched in Australia and New Zealand last month, and Meta says more countries will be added. US members will receive exclusive stickers on Facebook and Instagram stories and Facebook characters, as well as 100 stars per month to show their support for their favorite creators.
In Australia and New Zealand, Meta Verified also includes increased visibility, but the company is still testing the feature before deciding to expand it to other regions.
The product mimics Twitter's verification program, which CEO Elon Musk launched last year to give paying users benefits the free social media app doesn't have.
People interested in Meta Verified can register on the waiting list.
